I've studied the khazar hypothesis quite a bit. A large part of it is bullshit.

The turkish royalty became jewish from royal scythians marrying into them after the decline of scythia. Khazaia was already a multicultural shit hole before they "chose" to be jewish. What types of societies are multicultural? Jewish. The fact that their society was already a melting pot mish mash implies it was already jewish before the story of their conversion. Look up royal scythians religious practices. Look up the derivation of their name. Scythian is literally translated to "ashkenaz" as in ashkenazi jew. Kingdoms were named after their elite families - Scythia/ashkenaz was named after royal kikes that ruled over goys which were aryans and native browns that lived in scythian controlled areas.
