How can it be that people still do not understand what the pyramids were, and are?

Pyramids weren't power plants per say, but people building it were batteries that brought it up and maintained it. When the era of pharaohs ended, the pyramids started to decay.

In today's perspective you could see pyramid in a way that you are a working inside of a it bringing power to the people on top of that pyramid. In times of Egypt, they were pharaohs and today they are someone else. In other words, pyramids today aren't a visibile structure that you can see or touch. You live inside of it as a slave.

By the way, Matrix wasn't a movie. It was a documentary that tried to tell you the truth.

The more likely scenario is that there are people who know about it but it is something that is not to be shared with the public and all those history channel drama is kike's propaganda war.The locals living near those pyramids definitely know from their ancestors.

This is the Matrix, a prison, what Morpheus talked about. You cannot taste, smell or touch it but it's still there. In ancient times you could to all of these things to those physical structures but you cannot do that to this system where you live inside of it.
