I was a DJ /Bartender at a strip club for a few years and it’s not that much a mystery. 80% (at least) of the girls in a club are simply fucked up. Legitimately stupid/lazy hs dropouts who can’t do anything else, simple drug / booze addicts (often with bfs that brought them into the game, some losers like the girls, others basically pimps), girls who desperately need the cash (yup, some of those single moms). The other 20% are legit smooth ruthless hustlers out to get your cash and work hard and successfully to get it; the smarter single moms, ones who have a plan (invest & retire by 35, funding school or business), etc. Is it empowering? It can be for those some of those 20% who rightfully see men as a mark, understand their sexual power and its monetary value. You can call them whores, but when a top earner can take $10k in a weekend I can tell you, with certainly, they don’t care.
