Why did Nazis see Slavs and Baltic people as üntermenschen to be exterminated (Generalplan Ost) but people like Nips and Italians got a pass?

as is true with virtually all ideologies, the contents thereof are not a product of moral reasoning.
rather practical considerations are re-packaged as ideological ones, its always been this way.

They got a pass but Italians were viewed as inferior because they had been mixed and their alliance was based on cultural overlap not on race. The Japanese were isolationist and some have fairer skin than their neighbors, not to mention they carved out their own place in the world after several attempts by world powers to subdue them like they did China.
The etymology behind the word 'Slave' or 'Sklave' is derived from Slav because they were captured and enslaved throughout the middle ages mostly by people like Germans, French, Italians etc. The Nazis viewed this as a return to the natural order of things and that modern equality and german inferiority was the product of Jewish globalist influence.

go read The Czar's Madman by Jaan Kross. it is about Timotheus Von Bock, a kraut from an aristocratic family who was sent to russia during the napoleonic time period in a military exchange. he was a german army officer embedded into the russian army as a russian officer. the czar even offered his sister to him in marriage, to which he refused, preferring to marry a peasant estonian girl and take her brother along as an assistant.

Because Balts and Slavs lived in the area the Nazis deemed their "Lebensraum" so it was a convenient excuse to genocide them to make room for Germans.

Japanese are one of the most cultured races on the planet. They chose isolationism and were set behind technologically but any tech they got they adopted immediately. Japan produced a huge amount of muskets during the sengoku jidai. When they ended sakoku during the Meiji restoration they rapidly adopted European systems to catch up and within 50 years were defeating great powers like Russia. Communists like to fellate Stalin saying he turned the SU from a semi medieval society (not true) to a modern industrial power house, and all it took was starving tens of millions of people for no reason. Japan advanced from an actual medieval society to an industrial powerhouse faster and without foolishly triggering famines as dumb communists tend to do.

You're watching too many Shinjuku street interviews. Most Japanese girls are pretty apprehensive about foreigners outside of certain places like Roppongi or with street prostitutes specifically targeting tourists (white guy is less likely to be an undercover Japanese cop, who'd have thought).
