The doctors are "clueless" too. They'll ask you a whole bunch of questions that aren't very relevant (just like lawyers do), funnel you into giving a "yeah I guess so" answer that fits their confirmation bias, and then prescribe something that makes you 10x worse so you forget all about the original thing that was wrong with you.

Gonna be real here. In the past 10 years, probably the only thing that I'm proud about being Australian for is the healthcare I've received.

If you are genuinely in an urgent situation, not some made up bullshit, you'll get help. I've had emergency operations done immediately in ER, follow up surgeries, month long hospital stays, etc. All that without being slapped a $100k medical bill.

Be grateful about SOMETHING you cunts.

Sure, they sometimes DO help people. I had free surgery myself. Grateful for that. And sometimes people wait 8 months for category 1 surgery because their systems are mixed up (yes this happens).

I'm legitimately in this state (have had to do the whole pen and notepad thing for 4 odd years) and every specialist I see never helps, they only seem to make me worse.

It all stemmed from a car accident 15 years ago where I was given more and more pain killers until it fried my brain; I took only enough to manage my chronic pain condition, but I was fresh out of uni and having to work 60 hour weeks as a new graduate, so had no choice but to work through the pain.

I used to be able to watch Youtube while doing something else and pay attention to both things at once easily, was highly motivated, and very fit. Now I'm in my late 30's and can barely muster up the energy to go to the gym, am on disability and NDIS because I legitimately cannot find a job now due to the whole paper and pen thing, and am starting to get face blindness now. I've stopped all pain killers and medication as I don't want my wife to end up looking after me like an invalid so am hoping to at least maintain how I am now, if not with the possibly of maybe improving.

The specialists here do not give a shit, OP is 100% correct. My GP is an Irish guy who hates medication and helping me get off all this crap, and my psychologist is a based conservative one who hates lefty crap and is trying to help me on his end, too.

My mother started developing bad dry skin and a rash on her face, and after a 2 week stay in the hospital while the """specialists""" all did their tests, my dad and her got lumped with an $80,000 bill that luckily their insurance paid most of (sans $750 excess).

The medical system here is absolute dog shit, and is just a bunch of over-educated, intelligence-deficit dipshits who pass you around to earn Medicare bux.
