Why is this meme so popular when:
1. 50% of the federal budget is social security (old people) + medicare (old people), add on military + veterans affairs + interest on the debt and it's 75%
2. USAID + SNAP + HUD etc is less than 5% of the budget
But it's treated like a comparable amount of money goes to minorities/foreigners as old people?
Not to mention 30 year olds aren't the US tax base, 30 year olds don't make much money, the US federal tax base leans heavily towards higher income individuals which is pretty overwhelmingly late career and thus older (but not yet retired) people.
Plus the "dream act" is a failed piece of legislation. It's not law.
