The biggest one is banks creating money of no where, the credit creation problem inflated the price of housing beyond the actual purchase power. Born and raised in Canada. Idyllic small town upbringing like out of a movie. Left about 15 years ago and visit every few years. The pace of change/replacement has been incredible. Even small towns that used to be +95% white and overwhelmingly native born are now overwhelmingly south asian on the street (I assume a lot of boomers just sit at home all day hiding from what they've created). The friends I have who've stayed in Canada, if they didn't get on the housing ladder by say 2016 or so it's not completely impossible and rent takes every cent they earn and then some. It didn't have to be like this, if they'd simply capped immigration from just India and China and you'd get integration like there used to be, but now it just feels like colonization and replacement.
