People don't just do things, they always have a reason, when their reasons are bad, like wanting to have political control so you can inconsiderately ignore everyone else in favor of your objectively worse ways by using their own generosity against them, people come up with justifications. Justifications are powerful because it gives a person permission to do something wrong based on some kind of flawed morality.
