nukes are insanely easy to build actually. if you dig down into it with a LLM learning the basic physics of it literally all you need is pure U-235 and some high explosives.
for instance the explosives that timothy mcveigh used in oklahoma city, AN Nitromethane which is super easy to make, creates enough pressure to condense the U-235 and achieve super-criticality.
take polonium and beryllium, put them next to eachother but not mixing or touching, so separated with foil or glass whatever - this triggers a neutron burst when it's compressed and they mix. wrap that in U-235. then wrap THAT in AN Nitromethane and you unronically have a fission weapon. then it's just a matter of how much fuel you use.
hiroshima was U-235, and only ONE GRAM actually converted and underwent fission.
but that's the thing, getting pure U-235 is actually super fucking difficult. every other part is easy.
compress U-235 to supercriticality (regular bomb), and at the moment of supercriticality hit it with a burst of neutrons (polonium/beryllium mixture). that's it.
