>Why do humans still procreate
It's what we're biologically built around. Humans aren't the agents of our existence, our genes are. Some of our genes have been around for over a billion years, and they ensure their continued existence by being passed from individual to individual. People think that humans are the primary agents of their existence. Most people think we're the "driver" of the human vehicle and that our genes, giving us our body, are the "truck" we use to drive to get from place to place.
It's US that's the truck and the genes are our drivers. They use us as vehicles to get from place to place, to continue existing. Procreation is how this is accomplished so we are very fundamentally coded to procreate.
>there is no point to this life
Yes there is. It is to live.
>all ups and downs and all the shades inbetween have been lived through already by billions before us
In their own individual ways, yes, but not in your individual way.
>We are more sophisticated
Define "more sophisticated".
>stupid automatons like all the other animals
Why would that be a bad thing? Nature has a pretty good idea of what it's doing. Seems like a cause for celebration that you get the privilege to walk around on this Earth being the biological machine that you are.
