Anybody here remember the good times? (70's and 80's)

No security cameras
No cellphones
Ultima on your Apple ][+ or Atari
Could say whatever you wanted and not be sanctioned/cancelled
Compliment a girl on her tits and she would blush and say thank you!
Guaranteed jobs straight out of high-school
Faggots beaten regularly
Secret porn stashes in the woods
Male teachers as role models
Cities not overrun by minorities
No helmets or any protective gear
Zero fear of germs
Real language with little euphemism
Exchanged letters with girls at school. Girls would even mail you letters.
Pictures actually meant something because you had to pay to get them processed
Friends were actual friends and had your back
Moms still knew how to cook
Smoking at school
Almost everyone got in fights at school. Right of passage.
Girls dressed up and did their hair even to goto 7-11
Porn was the Sears Catalog
All night skating at the rink. Dropped off at 6 pm on Friday. Picked up at 3 pm on Saturday.

This is why there is no great collapse coming or anything like that, it's just a slow slide into the shit.
Everyone knows their younger years were better than current year.
People in the next decade will look back at the 20s and think "actually it wasn't that bad compared to now".
Same with the 2040s looking back at 2030s.

It was sane until the poorest of the

poor received internet in like 2011.

Blame Apple computer users, Obama and Biden for enabling the uncapable.

Now we're nostalgia locking our demographics and our children behind ever increasingly larger paywalls to remove the poor from our collective midst, precious internet, computer media, and dare I say: ever increasing technical requirements.

The problem is that's such a tremendous waste of efforts when 90% of people should not even have access to computers internet electronics cellphones or anything from 1975 onwards, because they don't have the aptitude or cares know how to build, care for, or use it.

Also you actually owned the game on hard media so you didnt have to get forced updates in order to play or have your experience altered

ALSO since you were shipping essentially a black box to consumers you couldn't fuck up the game badly. The game had to work you couldn't ship out an "update fix"

The world was large but you is only heard about it over the tv or radio or a news paper or a library. The nineties were such a magical time. I was only 3 in 1989 but I recall the comfy media, games, tv, movies, irl friends and experiences and HL1 mods the time from 1993-2004 very very fondly. Sometime when the iphone/android was released around 2009-2012 was the start of the end of friendly culture. 9/11 sucked and started the ball rolling of Government Overreach and decay but honestly I felt we were healing around 2008/2009. I wonder what happened. Occupy Wall Street maybe? Did they accelerate the Race Hate agenda then? Sigh I miss the past internet before it was Bubbles and Corprifide

Also people on the internet overall were far nicer. People didnt worship trolls or trolling. What happened to us?

So so true. Even minorities would respect each us and each other because everyone was anon more or less and we had a unspoken code of respect. We kept the trash talk restricted to the games and let it go when we got offline, mostly.

>rely on jew media for information
True to an extent. There was a lot more diversification of ownership, particularly at the local media level. If memory serves, radio started consolidating in the 1990s under Clinton (I think there was a law passed that enabled it), and the high cost of converting to HD/Digital format caused a lot of local stations to close down or get bought up. So while there was more reliance on media, it wasn't in the hands of only six megacorporations at that time.

I swear. Millennials turned into cringe nostalgia manchildren faster than even the boomers ever did. Our attachment with the 90s is the same kind of relationship boomers have with the 50s. And right now its mostly in the "remember the good times" phase like boomers went through with shows like Happy Days. But it will eventually turn into bitterness ala what boomers then did when they started shitting on the 50s wholesale with stuff like Pleasantville. Stages of grief.

Porn in the woods was just people throwing their trash out the fuckin window of moving cars, or being ashamed that some kid might tip their garbage can over or some raccoons dig through it and then there's their porn magazine strewn all over the sidewalk, or worse yet worrying that their parents might find it when throwing it out.

So people just dumped it out in the woods or in parking lots - like they would with gum wrappers or empty soda or beer cans or today's newspaper after they were done reading it.

Literally the only reason why there hasn't been porn in the woods in these last 15 years is because all the porn moved onto people's computers and phones and tablets.

And this is a completely fair point I wholeheartedly agree with. Its what I myself miss about it. And not just because it was my childhood. People in general adults and children alike were just more bearable (not really that great though because boomers still existed). And even boomers were not completely insufferable yet even though they could still be awful when they wanted to. But I swear the real millennium bug was something that got activated in the brains of boomers the moment Y2K hit.

brother none of the porn mags I ever found were neatly placed under a bush protected by the rain, if someone really was trying to keep it in mint condition as some 1990s urban pirate buring his treasure he would've placed them in ziploc bags or at least those plastic envelopes that comic book collectors use.

It was all rain-soaked and then sun-bleached.

You also don't care for the rest of my post explaining the other reason why one would find all sorts of trash everywhere including newspapers and magazines - or why one would go out of their way to dump their old porn magazines across town like some sort of murder victim not wanting to be seen by their neighbors or family.

People actually used to have shame when it came to watching porn and jacking off. If Anyone owned more than a few movies/magazines and they didn't just keep them hidden away somewhere they were seen as huge virgin sex freaks.

The average zoomers has consumed like 10 million hours of porn in their lifetime so far with an extra 10 terabytes of nude pictures, how many VHS and magazines do you think that would come out to?

I anticipate it and want it get as bad as possible. I am calling your toxic optimist bluff. I am not looking for careers in this delapitating hamster wheel (which is probably the measurement you use to determine whether your life is better/worse now than it was back then). If they make me homeless tomorrow I would rejoice and embrace the struggle.
People still LIVED back then. We still FELT. Both good and bad things. You want to plug into the borg instead. Thats what the 21st century is all about. Atomization and Conformity. I would rather live in the worst no go zone in my country like RosengΓ₯rd, Γ…rby or Rinkeby than in some gentrified suburb. I take 70s and 80s New York over gentrified fentanyl zombie New York still full of the same degeneracy but with PR to obfuscate it now any day. Its not like I would enjoy living in 70s or 80s New York (I know it was a disgusting turbo Weimar like the entire rest of the western bloc including Scandinavia at the time was so you do not have to lecture me) either though. I am more of a country bumpkin. If I could live in a cave I would. Thats just me, normie.

So true. Mass Effect 1 even did a similar thing when you do custom build it says data erased having to start over

Games back then were simpler and made by people who really really love having fun and being Innovative and they were smaller teams of mostly white men who got to well together and making money was secondary to making a fun game that other people liked the money would follow now games are made first to make money and then having fun it's like second or third or fourth on the list

No, not just you. Human population grew exponentially, and human life devalued to nothing.

Rules of being a "useful member of society" distorted grotesquely. And the further we go, the worse it gets.
Human competence is more or less even, so reasons to deny someone a place in this world have to become more convoluted, often abandoning sanity.

As of right now, being "sensible", is likely a character flaw, more than anything. Play by degenerate's rules or die poor and alone.
