Destruction of western education system is a reason why west failed.
Western education system was all about promoting creativity and critical thinking. Atleast that was the case until 1956 when US copied soviet education system in response of Sputnik moment. And rest of the western countries followed suit. What we could have achieved if we could keep our education system as holistic it was before 1950?

We could probably increase average IQ by a standard deviation if the philosophy shifted from one of mass production to one of intellectual enrichment

Anyone who's actually read Plato woul never bother to separate Plato and Socrates.
Even if Socrates was a real historical figure, there's no meaningful disconnect between the philosophies of Plato and Socrates. All of Socrates is contained within Plato, plus one minor work by Xenophon, and virtually all of Plato is told through dialogues of Socrates. The only ones that aren't are debated to be works in progress and if finished, would too have featured Socrates.
The historical timelines don't add up, it's very likely that even if Socrates did exist, everything written with his name in Plato is still the creation of Plato just the same as the guest features such as Parmenides.

While I agree that we absolutely should remember these Greek philosophers... the guy in the picture has almost certainly never actually read a single one of them.
This is a problem with many of the people who preach a traditional education, all they do is preach, but they don't actually read them.

the destruction of the universities can be dated to the 20's because to this day what was current physics in the 20's is considered out there. this was after the disastrous presidency of wilson, professor of "political science"

typical midwit thinks socrates didnt exist because xenophon and aristophanes were writing socratic dialogues like plato and therefore socratic questioning needs to be called platonic questioning
