Why has the US become an accomplice to Russia?
Great article by a journalist on how Trump and the U.S have become Russian accomplice in Ukraine.
What strategic reason is there for this?
Or is it just Trump being manipulated because Putin has the pee tape

The US extricating itself from Ukraine shouldn't be surprising to anyone. Historically, that's what they always do when their proxies are defeated. It's what they did in Vietnam, it's what they did in Afghanistan, it's what they will do in Ukraine. That's one of the primary benefits to starting proxy wars halfway across the planet; you can just leave and let everyone in the neighbourhood have to deal with the consequences.
Only retards who bought into the propaganda about muh illegal unprovoked invasion and muh Ukraine is a bastion of freedom and democracy against le asiatic horde seem to feel the need to invent wild, fantasy narratives where Ukraine didn't lose the war, they just got heckin stabbed in le back by Orange Mechahitler.
Reality is much simpler: Ukraine lost, NATO lost, and Trump isn't willing to waste resources trying to prolong the war solely for their benefit.

It never ceases to amaze me how people shamelessly believe the USA should fight WWIII against Russia so the Ukrainians can be in the EU. No thanks, fuck off.

As I understand it, Ukraine is in this war because of US, not the other way around.

US has a vested interest because if Russia can occupy Odesa, they can directly control the trade route that the western world rely on.

>As I understand it, Ukraine is in this war because of US
We contributed to a lot of this, we supported the coup in 2014 we declared Ukraine a future NATO country in 2008. We bribed their leaders to be "pro-Western" to join the EU. We have armed them we have created and escalated this situation. No question, and it was reckless and it is tragic because there is no way Americans are going to send their sons to die by the tens of thousands getting droned on trenches so Ukraine can "win" whatever that means now. Ukraine and Russia need to strike a deal and end this.

Unfortunately I don't think Russia really want a deal. I think they believe US is currently at it's weakest and they see this as a good opportunity to attack Western hegemony. The chaos ensuing across EU countries further gives Russia confidence as they are more likely to descend into civil war than help US.

I think WW3 is already in action and will happen predominantly in the middle east with US and Russia being the two major powers opposing one another.

I think China will play a part, but I'm not convinced it will be militarily. They're having internal struggles, so they're more likely to just help bankroll it, spread misinformation, etc.

The Ukraine situation is a glowie operation.
They compromised the Russian military command and encouraged them to continue bullshitting Putin while their equipment and infrastructure fell apart, then they tricked him into starting a war he thought would take two weeks but instead took all of Russia's young male population. It's a 20+ year plan to weaken and destroy a nuclear adversary.

What exactly does the west get from ukraine that they cant get elsewhere?, troon shill.

Also the port already wrecked.
>The port infrastructure in Odesa has sustained considerable damage from Russian military actions. Notably, in October 2024, ballistic missile attacks targeted the port, resulting in casualties and impairing operational facilities. Subsequent assaults in January 2025 further compromised the port’s capacity, inflicting damage on buildings within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic center. These incidents underscore the extensive reconstruction required to restore the port’s functionality.

Maybe this:
>However, individual Russians have invested heavily in Trump properties, and, following Trump's bankruptcies in the 1990s, he borrowed money from Russian sources.

I already said what I believe to be the American's vested interest, I will quote it for you:
>US has a vested interest because if Russia can occupy Odesa, they can directly control the trade route that the western world rely on.

Other than this, I've not claimed that the West get anything from Ukraine nor alluded to it. However, I think it's quite obvious the West would rather have Ukraine in their hands rather than Putin's if for no other reason than to control the space between EU proper and Russia.

With regards to the port being wrecked, that is simply not true. It has taken damage, but it is not completely incapacitated. Furthermore, the West are invested on repairing it because it's of such strategic importance and vital to trade. For this reason, even if it was totally incapacitated, it is still the perfect target for Russia to seize as it would take it out of West's hands.

If the West control the port, no matter how damaged, they can reconstruct it and use it. If the West don't control the port, they can't reconstruct it. They can't use it. This massively affects their trade.

Finally, what have I said to make you think I'm shilling? I'm not shilling for anyone. I hate all of the governments equally and hope they all fail. I'm simply sharing what I think Russia's intentions are. Discussing something from an opposing point of view is not shilling, it's simply using your brain as intended. Do you think the US government just blindly act or do you think they try to see things from the perspective of their adversaries? Obviously they do, right? So they're shilling? Obviously not.
