>>513966384>This is a real issue but why blame this on leftists. There's no explicit blame to leftists. The complain is the action, the implication of left-wing responsibility is implicit.
>>513967237>The altar is profit. It's not just because. The altar is not profit. That's the problem.
Some ugly, out of touch cunt in an office decided that investing $700M into an overhaul of the brand image (and eliminating much of what made Cracker Barrel distinctive in the first place) was a better investment than using an equivalent amount of money to improve the quality of food and staff at the restaurants.
>>513967674>Are you deliberately trying to miss the point? It's a marketing department who did this after all, they have concerns like metrics and how easy logos are to use in different media and what clients it appeals to.It's a colossal fuckup by the marketing department. The backlash you are seeing is one consequence of this fuckup
>>513969030> A restaurant with a clientele of 65+ boomers doesn't have a future.> Who cares if they seethe on social media. This is the contrived, shortsighted, B-team logic that leads to debacles like this.
You don't completely throw out your existing audience for a gamble on a new audience.
The same fucking thing happened to Gillette when they tried woke advertising. And lucky for Gillette, they could easily course-correct before too much damage was done. (They pretend like no damage was done, but this is an obvious lie). Same thing happened with Star Wars. Kathleen Kennedy absolutely tanked one of the strongest brands in the world.
The problem is that these out-of-touch CEOs and board members were so fucking clueless about who their audience even was in the first place that they didn't even perceive the risk. They took the older audience for granted and clearly did NOT expect them to react this badly.
