But the 90s actually kind of sucked in some ways here in Sweden at least. There was giga eat shit recession here. So I remember we had to be kind of modest with spending as kids over here. But I still remember what I do remember of the 90s fondly. I mean I was a foster kid with a lot of repressed memories of what my biological had done to me, my sister and biological mother but from 96-99 I have almost only good memories with my foster family. We and a whole shit ton of other kids were out all day. In a woods. Or biking around half the municipality in one day. Breaking into abandoned houses and locales. There was this old abandoned military base we went rollerblading or had sleepovers at when our inattentive boomer guardians went out and midlife crisis partied. Yeah it was kind of fucked up but it was fun and nothing really horrible ever happened. At home we rented VHS tapes over and over again of the same 70s and 80s anime horribly dubbed in Swedish and cut up/censored badly. Genshi Shonen Ryu and Ginga Nagereboshi Gin I remember especially. We had a SNES. I remember playing N64 and Playstation over at some foster relatives place too some times. Computers were still rare in my neck of the woods. I only first got online in -01 I think.
This is what we old farts mean when we say you have no idea what it was like and what you missed. For better and worse.

And I hate the 2010s as well. But in that case its mostly personal because I think the 2010s is when I was at my absolute worst behavior ever as a person and even worse than the 2000s. But culturally the 2010s was not as much of a slog as the 2000s I guess. The internet could still be useful in spite of normies already having invaded it.

I was 11 when the lockdowns started. My entire teen life up to right now has been fucked. The last 3 years of elementary school werecdpent doing disrance learning. My first 2 years of high school were just evetyone scting weird, distant and not wanting to talk or even acknowledge each other. Just started my junior year high school last week, I just got my driver's license last month and I think I'm almost the only person in our entire junior class to have a license alone a car. Barely any of the high school seniors do either. My dad and older brother both said almost everyone had a license if not a car or truck their junior years of high school.
