One of the things I don't get about these "poor people from third world countries" is how they can afford it. I can't afford to visit their country. That means I can't afford to pay for the food to casually walk through several countries before getting to this country without a job lined up. Suddenly they own a business or five and their kids are telling me that they save money by buying slightly less trendy new clothing while I dumpster dive college neighborhoods instead of shop. Are third world country poor people really that much more wealthy than us?
If so, why are they here?

Not sure about now but during covid I recall being at a version of jobcore and watched a batch of newly imported illegals being taught how to use their ebt cards to access their cash and food.
