This for sure. Many community colleges, like the one I went to, cap costs per semester. At mine the price maxed at $600 so if you wanted you could take additional classes for literally free. I was a waiter the whole time barely scraping by.

Used that certificate and degree to get something where I could get my own apartment and transferred to an in-state college, distance education, and it was ~$1,500 per semester. Got that degree after a few years and took summers since those were cheaper, then went on to greener pastures.

It sucks ass but once done you're good to go. If school isn't for someone then there are other well-paid options but you're going to pay with your back. My cousin is a lineman, other cousin a Sheriff Deputy, and another travels fixing machines all over the country. All make good money without school.
