Therapy generally doesn't work unless you luck out and get a therapist that operates on your wavelength. The last one I had costed $200 an hour and basically just asked me to do self-affirmation every morning. God if I wanted that I would've used the money to get a prostitute.

I went to a lot of different ones to find a competent person due to severe agoraphobia and they all had the same gay little kid exercise of folding a paper in thirds and writing what I think people are thinking about me, why, and what they really probably are. I explained a million times I don't give a fuck about what people are thinking, it's not the problem, and they kept doing the same shit or just asking generic TV style therapist "well how does that make you feel" questions over and over. Then they tried to push meds and I stopped going. AI has given me more useful help in the past year than almost 15 years of attempts at psychs/therapists.

I use AI for this not infrequently
it's way better than any therapist
cheaper too
and it figures out issues that I know I have, but U don't tell it, and it's pretty quick to recognize behavioral patterns
What's unfortunate is it doesn't share anything profound there's no new strategy or way of reversing traumas, except the ways which haven't worked my entire life.
Nice to have something to vent to sometimes that's about what AI and therapists are good for
I used a couple's therapist once to catch my BPD gf lying, call her out on her bullshitz and the therapist did, but it didn't change anything, the GF was still a piece of shit, in fact the therapist kept.trying to break us up, despite me wanting to keep trying, thinking planning milestones for behavioral changes would help.

AI will never tell you when you're going too far since you can reason it out of morals. Yes it has hard-coded guardrails but for more basic social issues the morality and stance of AI is fluid.
