The site’s functionality has improved over the years, ever since it adopted the modern UI and people can converse back and forth much easier. This also has increased the moderation of the entire site as well — you generally can’t say things wrong, if you do, you are fucked.

Reddit dislikes perma-bans, if you get multiple perma-bans from several subreddits, you are perma-banned from Reddit sitewide for life. And to rejoin Reddit is very difficult and again, you will still likely get banned because you said something wrong and the mods don’t like the words you used.

What are you talking about? The site functionality is far worse. Upvotes used to be real at one point. The number next to a post was the actual number of upvotes relative to downvotes. If it said 5,000 it meant that it had 5,000 more upvotes than it had down votes (I.e. it could have 15k up votes and 10k downvotes for a score of 5000).

Around 10 years ago they did away with that system and replaced it with an upvote system based on "fuzzy logic" which was never fully explained and is likely just used for site manipulation by mods and admins.

old.reddit.com is superior, modern UI is absolute trash. You used to be able to see 15-20 posts at a time with the old UI. New UI only lets you see 3 or 4 at a time. It's a step backward in every way. I want to read the title of the post before deciding if I want to click and view the content...I don't want the images autoloading and taking up the entire screen and forcing me to see the content.

Reddit site-wide perman-ban happens when you are perma-banned from several subreddits. For example, 3 - 4 subreddits have perma-banned you, and you will subsequently get perma-banned by Reddit.

The new UI is supposed to make Reddit mobile-friendly, and it has done so. It is pretty mobile friendly and you can scroll around for stuff. Honestly 4chan is difficult to navigate for its bad UI but you get speak here, unlike Reddit.
