Red pill me on Dick Nixon, saw an interview recently where he was saying some wise stoic shit about purpose coming from struggle and thought about why he's so hated.

Grew up with the defacto idea that he was the worst president, obviously this is one of those opinions that gets repeated ad nauseam by the Jew media, Watergate sounds like something the jews made a bigger deal about and stained the mans entire legacy over it.

He signed bills for national parks, nature conservation, and equality. He was basically a Democrat by today's standards, and Watergate wouldn't even be an issue today.

I think most of the hate against him came from inheriting and trying to win the Vietnam War. Literal baby boomers like Matt Groening were directed to hate him for the draft (but really to undermine America's efforts to make a south Vietnam and get another base in Eurasia).

Before Trump, and Bush, he was the "establishment" stodgy old man who tried to crack down on drugs, was out of touch with the youth and a war monger, and probably racist, etc. In fairness, from the Nixon tapes, we know he was very knowledgeable about the behavior and IQ of other races, and that Henry Kissinger was the only Jew he trusted. The media Jews must have picked up on this disposition even without hearing the tapes.

Watergate was absolutely a mountain made out of a molehill for Jewish purposes, and now it's just the "historic record".

He was a pretty good president.

He ended the war in Vietnam (something that the Democrats want you to forget). He set up a stable South Vietnamese government, which worked fine for two years until the Democrats pulled support for it, causing it to collapse and allowing the NVA to take over. Then the Democrats said "This was all Nixon's fault!" and repeated that ad nauseam (just like "Russian Collusion!" and "Trump's a criminal and a rapist!").

Ending the gold standard was forced on Nixon because the Democrats (Kennedy and then Johnson) had already wasted so much money on Vietnam that the debt was unsustainable -- and when the French said "we're converting our dollars to gold now, please hand us all your gold bars" his choice was between turning the U.S. into the Weimar Republic and just saying "fuck off, frogs".

He did some retarded things like setting up the EPA (sort of understandable, but quickly turned into a Dem-controlled engine of economic destruction) and putting in wage-and-price controls for a short period.

Watergate was the stupidity of a handful of low-level people working on his reelection campaign, and the Dems pinned all the blame on him as if he'd planned and organized the whole thing himself, when he probably hadn't even heard anything about it.

Happy to share. As a son of a hippie, I heard my dad decry Nixon as a war criminal for bombing Cambodia. Yes, the bombing was in a country that war hadn't been declared on (although enemy forces freely moved through it), but I get the impression this was an assigned opinion.

The war was conducted in a peculiar manner because we didn't want to provoke China into using it's nukes. It was thought that if the US military just came and rolled North Vietnam, it might provoke China to do something desperate. As a result, US soldiers would take loses gaining a hill only to abandon it and back off, pilots couldn't peruse obvious targets etc. We thought it would be okay if our South Vietnamese puppets took the north, but they were too corrupt to be effective. Interestingly, not long After America left Vietnam, China invaded, and the Vietnamese kicked them out too.

I think Watergate was a setup for Nixon. The plan to break into DNC headquarters seemingly got approved without Nixon's knowledge and then they got caught. An anonymous insider who we later learn had connections to the CIA leaked the story to Woodward and (((Bernstein))) who had never done a major article before; but who had state department connections. Nixon lied to investigators to try and save his underlings (G. Gordon Liddy) from getting fucked. That lie then implicates him in the conspiracy and takes down his presidency and Hollywood and the media spend the next 50 years demonizing the man into a bogeyman. In reality the watergate break in is trivial compared to the dirty tricks Obama played against Trump with the Russiagate hoax or the NSA unwarranted spying conducted under W. Bush and Obama.

The reason he is so hated is that he stopped the 1968 push to get radicals and communists into power. All the rest of the shit that people complain about him for is all background noise, it's simply that in 1968 the far left thought they had finally broken through to the public and that they'd be able to sweep into power and effect radical change, and instead the silent majority voted for Nixon.
