>Yes abandoning welfare will cause people to have to work again, you are right.
That was not was I was saying.
I said welfare doesn't need to be abandoned.
Abandoning welfare to get people to work is wrong on so many levels:
1.) There are not even enough jobs for all the unemployed, even if someone would "abandon welfare".
2.)If there is not enough jobs, what do you expect the unemployed, suddenly not receiving any welfare anymore to do?
3.) Economy growth will halt because previous welfare recipients can't afford any stuff anymore, less sales, less economy.
4.) This would shift the society largely in favor of employers, because not having a job basically means not being able to afford basic food and shelter, which would potentially compromise human dignity. It is a really bad idea.
> never understood how the economy in this country works.
how and why and where exactly is my understanding of economy wrong?
>Right now 18% of the population are net tax payers, everyone else is just leeching through welfare or pseudo welfare also known as government jobs
Where did you got that data from?
What is your opinion on advanced technology leading to higher productivity which frees human time for humans not having to work?
Wouldn't it be better if we use increased productivity from advanced machines to have more free time? If not, why not?
>they spend 10s of billions on it on foreign projects with zero return
Zero return now maybe. But it can be profitable long term if such projects and things are intelligently applied in context
F.e.
1.) financing schools in a foreign country for our specialized jobs where we need more workers for to fix the Fachkräftemangel. and the school teaches german and basic german law.
2.) developing foreign coutnries can be profitable, as a more developed country has more developed demands so more demand for our high quality exports.
Foreign investment can be mutually beneficial long term.
