Do the elites actually think when SHTF their Dubai style society that they are building in the west, where 5% are wealthy and 95% are slaves living in some kind of dormitory slums outside the gates, will spare them? They actually see no value in living in a healthy community where people will work together instead of starting a civil war when resources become scarce? How are they expecting not to get lynched in the future?

we almost had a worldwide famine beginning of last century when haber and bosch if I remember correctly, figured out how to create fertilizer by binding N from the air.

nowadays all the farms belong to megacorps, which, in case of a revolution or global stock market collapse (as in: stocks become un-tradable), would simply stop producing food. even if local farmers took over, they would not have fertilizer for more than a few months, since it is imported from other countries.
