Why are rich white people more drawn to Eastern religions than Christianity?

This was a trend for a few years. Is it still a thing? I assumed it just fell out of fashion. Trannyism is the new white woman religion.

it was a lot easier to be into "eastern religions" when it was mostly abstract, with some cool translated texts and some calm robed gurus on TV. Now "eastern people" are literally everywhere, they don't seem wise at all, they seem annoying, and criminal, and their weird ass religions are no longer abstract to you they erect statues of literal monsters in the town square

Eastern religions required zero or minimal commitment. One does not have to go to temples or shrines if they don't want too. There's no extremism and no judgement if one doesn't want to participle in worships.

I got involved in the higher self nonsense in the 90’s. They do not believe in the separation of being and that everyone is part of the divine and therefore you are good. This is nonsense, as it would mean that you don’t exist and would logically mean that dharma is false. There is no sacrifice in this system and what good things that you have are a result of dharma. Essentially you are a good person and you deserve all that you have, and those that don’t have deserve that as well, so you don’t need to feel guilty.
