If you're untrained and try 100 pushups and pullups you're probably gonna fuck a few tendons up and stop exercise for good

The most sad part.
That's a decent pace, but not challenging for anyone in even a moderate degree of shape. It's just 5x20 push-ups and 5x10 pull-ups. If you're struggling then 10x10/10x5. To do it in 10 minutes requires a consistent pace, but it's literally only 10 minutes; just don't be a bitch.

>>514062770
You disappoint me. No, you won't injure tendons unless you're a fat fuck. Being untrained you'll just get sore but it isn't going to hurt you.

I fucking hate doing pushups. I am training a useless muscle group. A six pack has negative utility. It restricts movement.

I can do 100 push-ups fairly easily. I still have never managed a single pull-up in my entire life, and I spent weeks trying to do one with a bar I set up in my apartment.

jump up on the bar and slowly hang down, repeat 10x a day for a week and you will be doing pull ups.

They should caution against jumping straight into a difficult routine. You need to work your way up to that, not start there.

rules of /fit/ are global. post body or shut the fuck up. this requires elite fitness.
99% of people cant do 1 pullup.
most people are too fat to do a legit pushup even if they have the strength.

jump and do negative at first only
meaning you slowly lower yourself after jumping chin above bar and keeping it for a while
after 2-3 weeks you should be able to do normal ones

1. Lose weight. If you're around 14% it should be easy to knock out a couple to get started.
2. If you aren't fat then you've no back muscles, likely because you're from a city and have never climbed anything as a child. Depending on your form your pushups may be all tricep strength, which is only accessory muscles for pull ups. Work on lat exercises like >>514064215, I would emphasize until failure. Begin at the top, hold for a second, slowly and in control release down. Some gyms have pull up bars you kneel on and put weight so it reduces your body weight when you're on it. Those are useful for getting the technique and reps, but not required.

It is quote difficult, in fact to be physically able to do 100 push ups and even more impressively 50(!) pull ups one needs to do them daily and so no, there is absolutely no danger at all.
This is typical mouth whore spite

Even then, that anon is full of shit. Pull ups are considerably harder than pushups.

I can do about 30, give or take, out of shape. But Iโ€™ve always been an athlete. Iโ€™d say most people are around the 5-10 range.

I know most of this board is retarded, but you're not helping that much at all.
This is physically wrong in every single sense of the word, a literal impossibility unless you were missing a large chunk of your body.

>>514064130
As the others said, easing yourself down from a pull-up is easier to train than going from zero to pull-up. More drop-down than a pull-up.
"Drop-downs" are just as valid an exercise and are the quickest way to get to doing pull-ups.
Kinda similar to doing half push-ups if you're horribly weak and want to build up the moderate muscle needed to maintain a consistent stance in a full push-up.
Do it consistently, that's the important part.

Elite fitness?
It's literally a 45 and 71 year old man. Even if they are the top 1% of their age groups that is not elite fitness level of any age group below 35. You are completely delusional.
Your statistic is patently false. Depending on your source, ~17% of US males aged 18-65 can perform a pullup, and 5% of females. Keep in mind that age gap and using the obesity ridden US as statistic points.

Pullups. I do 60 pushups as a warm up in the morning. I should do more, and other exercises, but Iโ€™ve been lazy as of late, and thatโ€™s enough to pump up my energy for the day and maintain my physique for awhile.

You must be confused; I would agree that sub 5 minutes is elite. The time limit is 10 minutes. An untrained person will not make 10 minutes; but it is a very achievable goal. Thus it being called a "challenge".
Like >>514065865 states; it's a novice challenge. If you watch the actual video; "elite" are the military members doing sub 3 minutes (male) and sub 4 minutes (female).

The occasional jog (and light bodyweight exercise like pushups) is good. Anything more is unnecessary (eg stuff that builds tons of muscles and makes you look ridiculous) and potentially unhealthy (eg professional-sport-tier intense cardio).

it is supposed to be understood without explicitly saying it that you should work up to it.
idiots don't understand themselves to be limited and then blame others when reality hits them in the face.
