I have the suspicion you're asking about practical "magical" applications of kabbalah though. If that's the case then just know it's not a compendium of magical formulas. Just like any other esoteric/mystical framework it acts as a form of categorization/organization of reality itself. The practical occultism derived from it comes from understanding and integrating the way reality is categorized/organized in the framework.

It's definitely not still the case because nowadays everyone has access to the traditional sources and even to the foreign traditions that inspired those sources.

The esotericism has been gutted for everyone to see and it only takes study. Initiation was only meaningful when organizations held the keys for interpretation and they chose who received them, who got "initiated". People nowadays can get those keys on google. Not saying they'll know what to do with them without dedication to study, but they're there, free and in the open.

This is also the case for most traditions and frameworks that relied in initiation rites in the past, not just kabbalah. Nowadays the keys are accessible to everyone.
