Space is a joke nowadays. Astronauts/Cosmonauts do the same experiments that they did in the 70s, nothing new. They also spend a lot of money riding vacuum cleaner and show tricks that have nothing to do with the space. They caught multiple times that they perform their space tricks in front of green screen and at some kind of warehouse and not in space. At this point I really do not believe that space as we are told exits at all

When they're not deliberately configuring it "wrong" to simulate tile loss, component damage and broadsiding the thing into the wind and executing aggressive maneuvers and slamming the fins out at max power during maxq to test the platform's limits, it's going to run a much safer more laid back entry profile. It'll do what it does out off the coast of Australia, only infront of the launch tower, get caught by the arms, then be lowered near the ground for a visual inspection before being restacked on a booster, having propellant loaded and being sent on another trip to orbit.

It may have been. You can see sheetmetal swaying below the edge of the skirt after relight but there's a long period at the end of coast phase where they're in the dark and you can't see the rear flaps. All I know for sure is after scrubbing through the footage they were both intact after hot staging and dummy satellite deployment, and showed up blown out after the ship passed back into the sunlight prior to the skirt blowing up (due to methane leak buildup?) during early reentry.

Because it's a test platform that they configure in a way that's bordering on unsafe in order to stress test the platform in a bunch of ways. 10 seconds shy of orbital speed means it falls back to earth uncontrolled in the middle of the indian ocean. If it hits orbital speeds and control is lost somehow there's no telling where it might end up deorbiting. There's no reason to run the engines those extra few seconds yet so they don't, and the risk profile is massively reduced as a result.

Pretty sure we've got one more launch of Version 2 of Starship before moving onto Version 3, Version 3 has a few notable improvements namely in a more confirmed tile layout and the Raptor 3 engine (Each engine weighs 1 ton less than the Raptor 2s and puts out an extra 50 tons of force).
Musk mentioned a version 4 of starship today which will have more engines than Version 3, not sure if it'll come with a Raptor 4 engine or not.

(total theory follows)
I think they are allowing it to burn though in the places where they are testing tiles. Because they don't want the tanks to burn through they are removing tiles in the front section.
If you look at the ss10 landing, notice the heat tiles are smeared with gold / rust. I think that actually is rust. I think steel was vaporizing on the surface from their test locations, oxidizing in the atmosphere and being deposited on the tiles. I don't think they show the interior because the glowing spots and burning holes would freak the fuck out of people.

Yeah a couple clipped the door but they did exit the ship. It was the first time they've been able to use their satellite dispenser in space so there were bound to be some hiccups. The fact it worked to get them out at all is positive. As for what is causing the problem, who can say really. It might be attitude control like you say, could be something about the dispenser mechanism or even the dummy load they were using. Whatever it is will no doubt be improved upon in future flights. They pushed the ship hard and got a lot of good data from this run.

The Starship re-enters belly first with the airflow travelling to the dorsal side. Meaning that any debris would be pushed towards the back rather than to the belly. The aft flaps were getting rather toasty but the debris from that wouldn't flow against the wind (I assume). The heat tiles have to absorb a lot of heat during re-entry and the ship was cooking on the way down so those might be glowing red hot. Might also be from that cloud they passed through on the way down maybe.

It didn't reach orbit because if it was to malfunction in flight while in orbit it would be stuck up there until it eventually comes back down who knows where. They actually take extra propellant into space to simulate the mass of a payload so they absolutely could just burn the engines longer until they circularise their orbit. The fact that the ship can sustain major damage to its control surfaces and still land intact on target speaks highly of its resilience and build quality. For reusability there is talk of using a different kind of heatshield that should potentially be easier to send back out again at short notice. That one uses cryogenic fuel to cool the skin of the ship and provide a barrier against the plasma of re-entry. It will probably blow up a couple of times before they get it right.

Since everything this flight was a success, they'll most likely be testing orbital insertion next flight. They were hesitant to do it because if something goes wrong after the rocket is orbital, it'll be harder to get back down since it'll just keep going around the planet instead of splashing down in the Indian ocean. And after Starship successfully goes orbital, they can technically start using it to launch V3 Starlink satellites.

>His point still stands
Nah. Gemini 1 was in 1964 and Apollo landed on the moon 5 years later. And this was with the full force of Nasa behind the project when Nasa was funded at a level an order of magnitude more than it is funded today. Spacex, despite what people will try to argue, does not benefit from being a wholly govt controlled quasimilitary entity. Nor were Gemini and Apollo subject to a fraction the bureaucratic red tape and ecological handwringing Spacex is today. It took us 7 years to get to the moon when the project was massively funded and state sponsored. Give these guys a break, they're trying to keep luddite faggots at bay with one hand and accomplish an engineering feat with almost exclusively private funding with the other.
>Starhopper
Starhopper was an initial prototype not unlike the first iterations of the Titan I from 1955, 7 years before the first Gemini mission which used its child the Titan II.

Nope. They sure haven't. Go find me evidence that they've received a single cent to this day for the starship program. The best you're going to get it headlines about winning contracts related to Artemis, but as I mentioned in my previous posts those are contracts which have specific conditions that must be achieved for payout. Conditions which have not been met for a multitude of reasons, mostly related to Nasa not knowing what the fuck they're doing with the program. See: the SLS and tower funding fiasco and the orion capsule heatshield shitshow that they STILL are withholding info on for some reason almost 3 years later.

Russians do that all the time since the 60s. How is Musk gonna go to the Moon ? You act as if some history is being written when in fact Musk is trying to catch up with 60 yo Soviet tech

You're arguing with a timewasting flat earther whose entire modus operandi is to lie and be a dishonest faggot. He's well known in these types of threads.

SpaceX has been on the Moon as much as Russia. They sent up 2 lunar landers this January.

Maybe not for this flight, but the first booster catch were definitely historic, and I'm glad that I got to see them live. The next goals for Starship are orbital insertion and upper stage catch.

I'm not digging mate. Thunderfoot has a PhD. He knows what he's talking about.

we will never do anything remotely noteworthy with Mars
wouldn't it be cool if these niggers devoted some the same time and money into some earthly endeavor?
i guess there's spaceniggers stranded on Mars that Musk is desperate to bring to earth

Musk wasn't alive until 1971, and didn't found SpaceX until 2002, so yes, they had to "play catch-up". But I would argue that SpaceX is currently at the top of the spaceflight industry, since they launch more flights and total payload than the rest of humanity combined (several times over), and they are the only ones who have the rocket vertical landing technology.
