There is something in the constitution about not imposing tariffs on interstate trade, but this didn't prevent states from closing their borders to interstate travel. As for religious freedoms, there is something about that in the federal constitution, but it doesn't prevent states from restricting religion, it only relates to federal law I don't think the lockdowns necessarily prevented religious freedoms, but if they did, the lockdowns were imposed by states who have the ability to restricted religion if they want to.

That's something the government has always been terrified of here. It's nearly impossible to police outside of the metropolitan areas. I mean pic related is grossly simplified and doesn't include a few big regional cities, but that 100km radius on our major cities is about the extent of any real consistent government enforcement in Aus. Outside of that they're relying on people to do the right thing because it's generally the right thing, ergo basic ten commandments type laws people generally agree with, but when they try to push for something beyond that, it's not happening.
