Indoor cats need a high place in which they can escape people/children. They also would have been confused by the introduction of a baby to where they live. If they're skittish and indoors then they're not happy anyway

Most of the problems are retard cat owners who keep their cats locked inside. Once you get them fixed there is no reason to keep them confined if they’re destroying your furniture it’s your fault. My cat spends her time happily chasing insects in the yard and the occasional snake/mole/mouse. She is free to come and go but given a choice they prefer the outdoors.
