Nvidia 5000 series GPU will overheat and burn
Asrock invented a way to prevent it: better electical cables

The GPUs WILL NOT overheat in the physical PCI-E connection, instead, it happens at the external extra power cable section.

PCI-E connector gives only 75 watts of power but GPUs need 400 watts, so how come?

There was 4 pin extra power connectors in the past, like 15 years ago, it provides 75 watts of extra and will never overheat

Then came 6 pin extra power that gives 125 watts, there was little problem with them

Problems appeared in year 2014 with 8 pin power connectors, but only a few models ever burned

SINCE 2025 we have 16 pin power connecter and 33% or EVEN MORE of the GPUs will burn through 16 pin! It gives 330 watts of extra power

Asrock company said they will put heat sensor into the 16 pin cable.

IT WILL INCREASE PRICE for about 33 euros due to sophisticated electronics inside the power cable. It cuts down power delivery when it detects too high temperatures, this slows down a GPU a bit but not by too much, the Nvidia GPUs are accustomed to changes in power delivery and will react in less than a second to these chagnes.

>Assrock
aren't they the company whose motherboards are frying AMD CPUs left and right?

yes but we are not talking about motherboards now

their electric cables with burn sensors can be used likewise in intel and amd setups, the common thing connecting them would be the nvidia gpus

Isn't the real number number less than 1%?. I know several with 5080s and 5090s and they have had zero issues with the 16 pin connector. I think in the cases it fails it is user error.

A lot of people keep their fps unlocked. If you are using you gpu to render something it will be pegged at 100%. Crypto miners as well

Ah it's newsposting Finn, that's so cute!
I think it's mostly when you run high wattages.
Always undervolt the GPU and don't use a XX90 card. Make sure the stupid connector is clean and sits well.
