I recently moved to a smallish college town in north DFW and the only doctors accepting new patients were literally all Indians. I pop in and give them my co-pay just to keep my blood pressure scripts filled so I don't die, but that is the extent of my interaction with them.

You have no idea anon. For some background, when foreign medical graduates apply to US residency programs they have to apply through our system. The biggest determining factor for applicants is their USMLE Step 2 exam score, one of our board exams.

A few years back, there was a massive cheating scandal where some program directors found that a majority of their top-tier applicants, people with scores above the 99th percentile, which is fucking crazy, were all international applicants (IMGs) coming from a tiny region in Nepal. The USMLE actually got off their ass for once and investigated and found that there was a massive cheating ring operating there. Normally, they cheat by making "recalls", basically writing down questions and answers after the exam and passing it around among themselves. This time they went even further- they managed to compromise a whole exam center and were taking pictures of the actual exam questions. For comparison, when I took the exam in the US, I had to scan my fucking palmprint and get searched every time I stepped back in.

They got the whole fucking exam man. There's no telling how long that was going on before it got noticed, or how many people they passed it around to. Rumor is that Pakistan and other such countries have similar cheating rings operating on Telegram.

Indians just need a CREST form to work here. A CREST form just requires any indian consultant to sign it saying all their stated experience is true, so they all just get some uncle or for cash consultant to sign it, they come to the UK as a cardiology registrar and don't know anything.

Then in the UK indian/paki doctors will all play defence for each other and only promote each other so you end up with entire departments filled with indians who have no clue what they're doing. They rely on rotational F1/2 juniors to actually come up with the plans.l

One was an ST3 black med reg who couldn't write so nurses would have to come ask me as an FY2 to come resee all his patients and he once gave a desating 90 year old with heart failure in obvious pulmonary oedema a 1 litre bolus over 15 minutes and an F1 called me to ask if it was correct. But he had some authoritative senior resp consultant take him personally as his project and exam coached him in his own time out of hours. Whilst i knew him he constantly failed exams.
