I had previously thought that the US was headed for cyberpunk style anarcho-capitalism.
A corporate state where corporations own private territories and armies.
Now Trump apparently wants to move the US towards nationalized capitalism.
Nationalize the giant oligarchic corporations, then the oligarchic corporations become part of the government.

I think its only socialism if the government actually fully nationalizes the company/industry and performs the function themselves on the taxpayer dollar. Buying up stakes in companies but not actually telling them what to do is something else. The US government might buy a 10% stake in Intel, but thats not enough to control Intel. Intel will still do whatever its going to do, and keep the profits from whatever it does. The US government just now makes a bit of money off of Intel's success, and now will suffer greatly if for whatever reason Intel goes downhill as a company in the future.

This isn't about the good kind of nationalization. It's about the companies that have been insolvent since 2008. The us can no longer afford the cheap money policy, so they're nationalizing the companies and paying off the jews one last time. We're getting closer to the end.

The government always seeks to make itself larger. Grow it's employment count, people on welfare, rules and red tape. Everything. Always. The more people you have dependant for success on the government the less you have to worry about the common man disrupting you. Like the agent smith effect, people dependant on the government will automatically defend the government in all aspects and even seek to grow it even further. Imagine how the average citizen will jump to defend tyranny when their retirement account is tied to the success of their corrupt government. This is end game moves being made.
