That's a little bit of MPC for motor control at best, arm dynamics are likely a kinematic approximation, no "AI" involved.

if it's a kinematic approximation then the engineer/programmer screwed up the process failing to not only set the arm to the proper distance to pour milk, but also to compensate for the structural integrity of the paper cups it was designed to use.

The company that's shilling this robot coffee shops specifically have "A.I." plastered all over their web sites. Turns out this "A.I." can't even compensate for the calibration in their robots drifting over time, a problem that was solved in the 90s with slow ass computers.

Even lowest of low quality products are expensive now. I went to Starbucks and got better egg sandwiches for the same price that just come in packages and get put in an oven before they serve it to you. Still $11 for two and you're still hungry after.

To put it into perspective, 2 mcmuffins were $3.30 before 2020. Now they're over $11 like some sort of gourmet food. They were quick cheap trashslop back then and they still are now, yet you pay triple. No thanks. Even $3 is too much, this slop needs to be under a dollar again or I ain't buying.

wouldn't it be easier to have the cup move down a line rather than bring all the parts to the cup? like a standard production facility? imagine a bottling line.
this forcing of robotics to be humanoid is hindering development. the issues with keeping a bipedal robot erect can be overcome with a third leg but that isn't humanoid so here we are.

Why does it need to be this complicated arm to interact with a bunch of machines designed to be used for humans instead of just designing the coffee machine from the ground up to do everything automatically? This seems so over-engineered for no reason.

Yeah, I used to think that I'd feel this way too. Lots of fast food restaurants near me now have ordering kiosks like this setup, and nobody comes to the front for anything other than dropping your food off. I've found the self-order kiosks at multiple restaurants to be so unintuitive and poorly setup they've elected to walk out and go somewhere else rather than complete my order. I'd rather talk to a fucking retard behind the counter than ever use one of these Jeetware self-order stands again.

It also doesn't make any sense to do this with a robotic arm that mimics human motions. Food service automation companies already solved the barista problem with all-in-one self-contained machines that just needs to be filled with coffee beans and hooked up to water and refrigerated milk and cream chambers like Eversys. This could be just a demo product for a general purpose system that could be adapted to do other things, but it's a shitty demo that doesn't build confidence in the company's ability to execute.
