Depends what caused it. Lack of sleep and alcohol abuse gave me extreme anxiety and depression and even just drinking less and fixing my sleep made both disappear. Also, get bloodwork done.

only women get lonely
men get bored
the only cure for male depression is to immerse oneself in some project that consumes your every thought and drives you with an obsession
A lot of men find it in computer games, some go into lifting, some go into sports, some do the family thing

(1/2) Was depressed for 6+ years, almost tried every type of "help" out there. 4-5 different antidepressants, Transcranial Electrical Stimulation, therapy. None of them helped, or made it worse. In this time, I studied anything that I though would help. Medicine, biochemistry, psychology etc.

I ended up realizing than no one can give you a pill or do something that will get you out of depression. You have to fix yourself.
And long term depression is not something you can take a pill to cure. Depression is a symptom of something else, that something is a bad lifestyle.
Antidepressant are like morphine, expecting morphine to cure your broken foot is dumb. Something broke your foot, you need to realize what caused you to break your foot, don't do that again. And then work on it and take care of it, and eventually the foot will heal because it's cause has been fixed.

For me, I started strength training. This is the best type of exercise to improve your mental health. I stopped porn and reduced social media use. I still jack off, but I try to keep it to at most once a week. I started eating healthy, and here healthy is not becoming vegan or other dumb diet shit. Just stop eating too much junk, eat meat, fat(not vegetable oil and other shit, eat animal fat). It might also be worth trying to go on a diet where you slowly add new foods as some can become depressed from certain eating habits like eating bread. Here you will start with eating something like eggs or just straight stake. No seasonings other than salt. Then every week add a new thing, maybe you can try bread, and if that fucks with you stop. Pretty simple.
Get sun, or at the very least take some vitamin D pills. Make sure you have enough vitamin D. Stop drug use or excessive drinking if you do those. Simply just fix your life, you likely know yourself what you are doing wrong, you just aren't changing it.

And I know it's hard to get any motivation to do these things when you are already depressed

I power through it. If I can keep myself busy enough to somehow ignore the thing then I'm golden for a while. When slumps happen I'm basically lethargic for weeks.
Basically fake it till you make it.
Drugs (SSRI) never helped because all they do is give you enough energy to act on your bad thoughts.

What I did at the time to get motivation was 1. Hate, I got a resolution that was strong enough that I could force myself to get out of bed. Don't want to fed post so won't say what my goal was.

2. I found an old antidepressant from my studies that is not really given anymore. It's the only type of antidepressant that actually work. Doctors claim it's dangerous and they don't give it out anymore. I almost had the threaten my doctor to get it. They are called MAOI's. They are not dangerous, it's bs. There are certain foods that can increase your blood pressure, such as fermented food, but you would have to eat insane amounts and studies show that blood medication that would lower your blood pressure in an event where you ate a lot, it would not be worth giving as the blood medication is more dangerous than the increased blood pressure. On top of that it's one of the most studied antidepressants and the one with the best effect. No one has died from it, as in ever. And it doesn't have as bad long term effects as some other antidepressants. I believe the reason it's demonized is because it's old, simple and effective. This means it's cheap, and there's no longer any patens on it, meaning they don't make any money on it.

If you need to take other drugs to get motivation then fine. Just make sure if you take MAOI's or drugs that it's short term until you've gotten into changing your life around. I stopped taking it after 1.5 months and since then I haven't been on any anti-depressants or had depression.

I can only say what worked for me. I stopped drinking alcohol. Quit porn and masturbating. Started being strict about a sleep schedule. Started working a physical job outdoors. Found a good church, started being active in it, and got baptized. This process has taken over 5 years. Quitting alcohol was the most difficult thing I've ever done, and required the most desperate prayer.
It's very difficult to dig out of a hole, but I'm living proof that it's possible. Good luck, Anons.

Also for some reason eating a mixed veggie pack does something too.

There are some escape hatches that allow for immediate, or close to immediate, reprieval, such as medication and therapy (I know). Seek those out first and PERSIST with them, they will likely not cure you, but they can serve to make the recovery process easier. Many depressed people don't PERSIST with their treatment, and half-ass it, and eventually give up altogether. Many depressed people mistakenly think that they can predict how certain actions will affect their minds in the long-term, making all possible actions seem to lead to disappointing outcomes, this is a deception. Remember that millions have overcome depression, and so can you.

Try not focusing on the things that trigger your depression.

If your environment (home, people, etc.) is the problem, then relocate to a new place.

Distract yourself with video games.

Talking to a therapist doesn't really help, but it feels good to unload all of your shit on someone.

If everything fails, and I mean EVERYTHING, then you can ask for meds. There is no such thing as happy pills. The meds will dull all of your emotions, basically making you a retarded zombie. You will also have a harder time getting erections. The withdrawal effects can actually kill you.

Politically speaking, just move to a non-libtard area and have sex with an ugly woman.

Ketamine infusion. Permanently fixed my depression in just 1 hour. The best way I can describe it is like resetting a computer, but for your brain. Use those 45 minutes the ketamine is flowing through that IV to process and decompress from whatever's fucking you up. I know that doesn't sound like a lot of time, but when the ketamine hits, time feels significantly slowed down. It felt like I was laying in that recliner for a week.

Depression is routed in suppression;
Not acting on a crush
Not thinking about a trauma/death
Not doing something out of anxiety
Not acting on anger/frustration
Being bored

These all contribute to suppression. One usually finds a coping mechanism; drink, drugs, prayer, games, writing etc. this helps stabilise them to get through a typical day. Functioning but still suspended in suppression.

A deep desperation, esp in times of waning access to vice/cope, which is unactualised due to irrationality or further suppression. As time ticks, that suppression builds an subconscious pressure.

Like a boiler, the pressure builds and without release it will burst.
This burst is where suppression is released, whether through a binge out or shooting up a school.

How to cure it?
There are 3 steps;
Actualising suppressed in responsible outlet - journal, worry tree, boxing to help regulate cortisol, etc
Trusting yourself to act in regards to a solid moral system - establish your moral fibre, start small aim big
Step back into childhood curiousity and intrigue - do not trust your own knowledge all the time, it's fine to look like the dumbass if your looking for the answers for the curious ones unable to ask

These will take you on the path closer to reeling in the beast, and then you'll find your smile is a genuine authentic.

Best of Luck

I don’t. I numb my suffering with drugs and alcohol and other distractions.

The truth is that we all have needs and very few people even know what their needs are or how to meet said needs. Our society is utterly broken and doesn’t know or encourage any one to meet their needs. It drives people to distractions to numb their suffering instead of trying to increase their contentment. Poisonous food, water, and medicine doesn’t help. Men have higher estrogen and lower testosterone so they behave like violent females. We don’t have communities any more. I don’t even like my neighbors. People are poisoned spiritually with porn and drugs, instead of seeking the virtue of purity.

No signs of stopping. Shits fucked. World is going to be a dark place. America needs some serious healing.

The fact you are depressed is a choice.
Maybe depression makes it so you don't want to get better, but, then, what's the point of this thread?

>Depression is quite literally in your head
It's actually in the gut.
The ancient Greeks called it "melancholy".
Which means "black bile".
Too much black bile in the gut equals depression.
You gotta clear out the gut to cure depression.
Get rid of the build-up of black bile (melancholy)

Some truth here. If your guts are fucked up it can lead to or exacerbate all sorts of mental issues.

rejoice in the LORD always
and again I say rejoice
follow the Prince (i.e. Leader) of Peace, for peace.
trust in the LORD with all your heart (i.e. desires) and don't rely on your own understanding (related to satisfying desires) in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.
delight yourself in the LORD and He will grant you the desires of your heart.
and most importantly in this current serfdom undet kike-kleptocracy:
>“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.”

>how do you cure depression?
You convert your depression into cause
Do something - doesn't matter what - just get up and get moving
I concentrate on projects I have going
Accomplishing something worthwhile offsets the suck
Start small. Maybe pick something and start learning how to do it. Or pick something you already know how to do and go back to it...
Not talking time sinks. Talking real world things that require sweat equity

Be honest with what makes you feel this way,
Try to relativize on it and eventually do what you like, it could be anything like walking.

Go to the gym! The first day will be the hardest, don't put it off just get to the gym, even if you go for 20 minutes on the first day, getting there is the main thing, from then on train consistently, your diet will clean up and you'll sleep better, you'll feel better, I truly believe the gym can help almost everyone
