Putting aside your inferiority complex for the moment, the graph is a lie, and I think you know that. It likely includes everything from unrelated shootings across the street, to accidental discharges by resource officers, to someone within a mile fired a gun for some reason.

Before the 60's, you could buy guns by mail. It didn't had to be registered.
This included the tommy gun which is a weapon of war, an improvement of a weapon of war in fact and a much better gun for school shooting than the AR15.
