The Syria's army is a non-factor, Hezbollah and Iran recently had most of their top leadership wiped out and were utterly humiliated. But yes, you do have a point. Trump is the president so they're more willing to just do it.

Israeli dominance in the middle east basically gives USA priority access to all resources therein. The fall of Israel and subsequent foundation of a Palestinian state that owes China a debt of gratitude would more than flip it around on the west.
