Honestly, I completely fell into line with tobacco being the worst shit you could possibly do to your body. It was plastered everywhere how it was absolutely going to give you cancer and the thousands of chemicals inside a burning cigarette would make you into some kind of tumor laden mutant.

Then e-cigarretes came out. A product that removed all the negative chemicals I was told was the main contributing factor to all negative effects of smoking. You would figure that would be the chance for the health community to say, "If you are going to smoke, use this because it is dramatically safer" instead it was treated JUST as bad if not worse because it was flavored.

That was an incredibly odd stance to take. So now that a flag was raised that I might have been fed bullshit, I started to do some digging.

I have seen data that shows the only reason that any headway has been made in cancer deaths per capita, is simply from reduction in smoking.

I think that this is most likely the case. I use almost no addictive chemicals in my life. This includes refined sugar, caffeine, alcohol, and any drugs.

I can't find any data or study that says nicotine is not severely addictive. Furthermore and most problematic for me, is that any benefits it gives are quickly lost due to diminishing return and increased dosage requirements.

Would legitimately love links to long term cognitive benefits, testosterone, or energy benefits with nicotine.

Tobacco is pretty bad for you but people tend to conflate the harm of smoking CIGARETTES with other forms of use or even pure nicotine. Cigars/pipe are considerably less harmful and addictive than cigarettes as long as you aren't inhaling, which you probably won't because cigar/pipe smoke is harsh compared to cigarettes. Dip and chew aren't as harmful as cigarettes either but the frequency of use can make it pretty bad anyway. Snus are probably the least harmful way to use straight tobacco. Straight nicotine isn't carcinogenic (but may promote existing cancers) and actually has a number of beneficial cognitive effects. It's not much worse than caffeine on its own, the main issues you run into are addiction/tolerance and whatever health hazards the means you're getting it from carry.

I don’t really care what you guys say considering I’ve been a smoker and a non-smoker for two long periods of my life each and the difference in health and fitness is night and day. When I smoke, my breathing sucks, my skin is dry, I fucking stink, everything about my health is worse. They might have decent organic tobacco in squares but I don't like squares at all. Tobacco should be a once a week thing, maybe once a day at most.
