Yeah, but in general it seems to be over because the times where the employment threshold was so low that everyone or an indecisive individual could make it; this doesn't really apply anymore, if we look at the US stats, it is not even true for ancestrally integrated "American" people. To "make it in the US" (or any other place for that matter) you nowadays usually need some education. The threshold for success and professionalization has increased making it viable rather for those who want to advance very focused careers like say a Korean battery engineer going to California working for Apple.

Referring to this in particular here. Generic career choices used to be workable for migration, this increasingly doesn't even work for people who aren't migrants.

Well, if we're being intellectually honest its largely just men who are affected and the fact that almost all the "elite overproduction" (if one does want to call it that, I don't consider a non STEM bachelor elite by any stretch of imagination. but again. for the sake of argument I go with it) is in poorly scalable fields. Companies when they have the choice prefer women for these jobs, largely for social-cultural reasons as Western society since the culture war loss of the boomers is anti-male. This combined with automation + the economy becoming more efficient has led to fewer of these being needed while due to the societal memes, outdated boomer understandings of society etc. that concept of "just getting that degree" became more popular, causing what one can consider a swine cycle. Even nigger women do that now which basically prevents the previous 1-2 generations of white collar workers from manifesting themselves again at the rate they used to. My guess is blue-collar stuff will be the next swine cycle.
