These cubes (quite a symbolically significant shape in itself) are a modern, adapted version of this re-shaped through their typical pilpul. The current events in Gaza are purely an accumulation of power, a sacrifice to their god Moloch to get his blessing and support before they bring hell on Earth after which they will be left as undisputed rulers of the material realm. To play the devil's advocate, many of them aren't consciously aware of the etymology, and even fewer of the power that words bear. Words most often remain in people who claim to have broken the bond with abrahamism, even atheists and nihilists.
