In late July 2025, a video of what is now referred as the "The Vietnamese Butcher" was released on a private Telegram group, selling access for ¥89-¥198 for such contents. It was eventually leaked to public knowledge through shock sites and other platforms, bringing into the light of what is described as the first authentic snuff film by Vice News.

The film itself involved a willing male participate who had a fetish for being beheaded who was masturbating before being beheaded by a man wearing a plastic Guy Fawkes mask with a meat cleaver, and being dismembered with his entrails being cooked with cooking oil.

The end of the film plays a slide show showing the perpetrator with his face partially concealed with a blue surgical mask, holding the victim’s severed head via a selfie. And multiple other angles and shots of the victim’s severed body parts, including one still where the perpetrator places the man’s severed genitals into the mouth of the victim’s severed head. The song "Spiders" by alternative metal band "System of a Down" can be heard playing in the background during this segment of the film.

There are 11 video clips and 98 images of the event currently being sold on the dark web and on Telegram as a pack. Videos and images of the film have also been shared around various social media apps and shock sites.

The participant and victim in the film has been identified as Nguyễn Xuân Đạt, a Vietnamese male from Hanoi who had multiple Facebook accounts showing and expressing his sexual desire to be beheaded. He also went by the alias on social media and adult websites as "Dat Beheading."

The backstory is crazy, there's screenshots of his posts on facebook talking to what's speculated to be his executioner and yes it's a fetish thing. People found his accounts on fetish sites and they're all snuff themed. Apparently his death was set up in a similar fashion to a scene in a snuff doujin he had favorited on one of those fetish sites.
