Ethiopia in a diplomatic letter to the USA accused Eritrea of working closely with a faction of TPLF. Considering that faction would have the backing of a whole country;they likely run the TPLF.

Add to that Ethiopia is a Cristian nation that it's Arab neighbors have been trying to destroy for 1000 years. Gulf states love financing and Moslem nation that attacks Christians. And of course the elephant in the room is that they are on the other side of Yemen and Israel wants to make use of their territory to "stabilize" the region and protect Red Sea shipping lanes.

No. Eritrea is an authoritarian state similar to baathist dictatorships except with extremely extensive "military" conscription(actually most of the conscripts do various odd jobs like construction) that lasts indefinitely.
They have a capable central government and greater ability to mobilise their limited resources than the Ethiopians which is part of the reason why the latter failed to take over the country in the past.

The big issue however is that 95% of anglophone information about Eritrea comes from translations of Ethiopian journalists writing about it(totally not biased) so it's difficult to tell what exactly are they capable of.
