So is being a skilled Artist basically useless now that AI can generate 1000 decent quality images even better then your typical Artist can scribble a cat. And before anyone mentions “Ai has no soul” nobody in their right mind is paying you to exist at this point when they can just pick and choose from millions of images instantly generated. I suspect musicianship\writing will be next to go and filmmaking after that. Only richfags with inherent wealth will have the domain of being mechanical artists selling their stuff for money laundering as it has always been.

>Only richfags with inherent wealth will have the domain of being mechanical artists selling their stuff for money laundering as it has always been.
Checked.
I knew a guy who graduated from art school for painting large murals. He ended up being 40k in debt because it was a super prestigious art school.

He complained they taught him how to paint but never taught him how to get a job. That + AI revolution absolutely fucked him over

He's had to post his portfolio everywhere but to no avail (He'd be lucky to get a commission every 4 months).
He ended up working retail for a while for scraps, until he finally got a job as an art teacher.

It's still shitty pay, but at least his degree is being put to work somewhat.

So yeah, AI fucked over art students. And I agree that Musicianship/Writing are very close to the chopper now. STEM has become a meme at this point too.

Yeah STEM going away is pretty crazy. Ai is being implemented into every workspace from architecture to engineering. Sure you still need a human to go over everything but instead of 100 engineers designing something you have 3. I think truck drivers deserve a raise cause that shit ain’t going nowhere.

Just be careful about more desolate roads. I know it's harder to stop a larger truck but crazies will try and rob you if you go onto a dark, lonely road.

Otherwise that might be the way to go if the trades don't work out for me. Would love to custom fit some god-tier speakers and jam out

No, upper middle class/rich people will absolutely pay money for good human-made art. They buy the art not just for the art, but also for its artisanship. They buy it because it was done by a skilled artist.
It's just a cheap piece of shit with zero value if some GPU draws it. You'll never find a snapshot from Skyrim hanging on somebody's wall, but you will find a hand-painted landscape of Skyrim hanging on somebody's wall. Many people in fact, I bet thousands of people have Elder Scrolls paintings on their walls, all hand-created by artists. You're not making art. You're making a picture trained on art. You're essentially just choosing an art randomizer to GPU a picture you like.
The true value of the art is completely lost, and no one with money would buy whatever bullshit you tell your image gen to make, because it has zero value.
It doesn't even blend color correctly. I've never seen an AI art piece with natural blending. Computers don't understand color grading.

None of the artists painting commissioned landscapes/portraits/etc are out of a job. In fact none of the better digital artists are out of a job, people will still commission them because of their name. It's the name that makes fame. That's why the furry community whining about AI art was so funny, any talented artist in that community has fans that commission a piece specifically because it was created by the artist. The artist could use AI and save a ton of work. It's completely stupid to be a digital artist and whine about AI. You've essentially been given a tool to cut 4/5ths of your workload without your customers knowing. If you're a digital artist and you didn't increase your profits by 50% over the last 4 years, you're a retarded communist. Such an easy exploit.

Bob Ross already gave you the answer. His show was called "The Joy of Painting". It wasn't called "The Joy of What I Painted". The point is to create, not to manifest a creation. Bob showed you how using a simple technique he learned, you can complete a painting in less than 30 minutes. But he wasn't doing it for speed or to show off what he made. He was doing it to encourage you to learn how to paint, so you can paint as a betterment for yourself.

People thought photography would kill painting too. Why paint something fake, when you can take a photo of the real thing?

If you're any kind of decent digital artist, you still have value because you're the one that can make the best-looking AI art generally. You're the one prompting until you get the perfect gen. A company will still value your ability to understand anatomy and form. You're trained in anatomy and form. Photoshop just got better, that's all.

aren’t rich fags generally already the only ones who have actual art (as opposed to prints) anyway?
I’ve yet to see any AI art I’d hang on my wall, but I’ve seen a lot that would be just fine for stock photos or paperback novel covers. Which I’m sure sucks for whoever was making rent that way.
Some things I have seen that were pretty amusing: that impressionist comedian who does celebrity voices and then uses deepfake software to put their faces over his. His dead Jedi reacting to Star Wars vids are kinda amusing.
I don’t think it’s going take over film completely, but it does look like it can be a good tool for creatives.

You know what hallucinations are? Getting worse.
You know why companies need more and more GPUs to run? Mostly to repair those hallucinations. And the more GPUs you add to the system, the more hallucinations happen, because of THIS fellow right here-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy

The technology won't go as far as people think, because unlike the normal healthy human brain, AI is susceptible to exponentially worsening entropy owing to the nature of electricity and electrons.

At this point I’ve been rendered obsolete by AI and by industrialization. There is quite literally nothing I am good at that cannot be done by an AI, or physical craft that either can be mass produced by machine or is something people will pay what it is worth for my time. I’ve put in enough years of work to retire soon, but the PROBLEM is inflation is not slowing and that social safety net I paid into all these years was squandered on generational welfare leeches and immigrants. If I do retire, and I still need to work (I will) I’m looking at probably very low paying and toxic retail.

People lower their standards to “good enough” so long as it is cheaper. We are staring down an extremely dire competency crisis in the near future. If you stop hiring beginning-level workers as writers or to code websites, how are you going to replace your management when they retire? You will have nobody to choose from. Some industries, like food service, are already having this problem. How do you find a decent manager when your lower staff is a constant churn of turnover because you won’t pay them enough? There’s nobody to learn the ropes. Management has to start SOMEWHERE. If you’re replacing your entry-level workers with AI how will anybody advance anymore in anything?

Not true
So many artists prove this wrong working in realism purely from the mind without models or pinhole cameras or other tricks
Hurts to hear I am sure

What everyone misses here, because you’re not artists or you consume only garbage from modern sources and mostly things from the internet only I am guessing, is that AI stylistically can be pretty easily identified
Exceptions to that would include a good imitation of another artist’s existing style

Telling it to compose a new image that looks like someone else is nothing
Ultimately it only knows what it has consumed

Many artists bring completely new styles that are completely from left field and seem like magic because they are not apeing any previous artist or combination of artists

Maybe someone already said this but it should be repeated to end these meaningless threads
It’s just more demotivation content to try to keep people from trying at all
Just look how OP, a gaywad, wrote it’s message
The thread itself is AI generated and it’s weak unoriginal posts and arguments reinforce my thesis here

Sure, it is about expression, but unless you are only making art to hang it in your living room, you have got to be more original and actually put some fucking skill. Lazy fucking dumbass

Naw, conceptual art is a masturbatory circlejerk of funding that doesn’t seem to have an end in site. I have a lot of experience in that world and I don’t see it ending any time soon, certainly not to ai because it is out of its scope presently. What’s really going to die are deviant art tier shit, illustrators, low level design work etc.

A lot of bread and butter jobs will be gone, like designing the logo for bobs mechanic shop down the road, making a simple flyer etc. at this point, unless you are big enough to be doing it in house or tied to a major design firm, you are just going to get it for free from ai rather than paying someone to design it like you used to.

>i also love that people i dont like, like troons and pajeets and niggers also dont have jobs.

I swear for years I've heard people brag about tech being dominated by those on the left. They basically voted for their replacements.
A few years ago a University of San Francisco campus laid off its IT staff and outsourced the work to India.

I've seen punk venues get called out for making posters with AI to advertise shows.
Some think it conflicts with the DIY ethos, while even saying the venues shouldn't make the posters themselves but pay someone to draw them.

thats cause most "artists" are generally pretty useless people whenever needed outside their niche "talent". So they feel threatened by all this, they see their future as hobo's, which would be justice, hell they may even have to pick up a shovel or hammer, the horror!

AI "art" will never be good at anything other than smut. In fact, many hentai websites now have an AI filter because the flood of slop pissed people off.

Keep seething, AI pajeets. Your shit will never create anything of value. Learn to draw and 3D model or fuck off.

"AI" will have some value when it can ASSIST you in creating stuff. As long as it shits out its own slop and call it a day, it's absolutely worth shit.

For the most part.
Humans still need to give directive and anytime a new creation is created it won't be by an ai. Ai only takes whats already been established. Its not stealing either because nobody owns anything. You can all share. Thank you for contributing to the index of art but now it's time to get a real job.
