The correct lesson is that no political system works the way that people write about it. There is theory, and there is practice. And even when the theory approaches reality in some limited context, it doesn't apply to that political structure in all contexts and while used by all people. There is no panacaea for humanity at the level of political structure. This should be common sense, but there's enough brain rot caused by the two party system in particular that people seem to believe that such a perfect system could actually exist.

Also, people refer to "systems" in when reality most of these ideas are mere fragments of a system. Capitalism, for instance, is about how stock is owned and shared. Socialism is about welfare. These aren't even contradictory ideas, and they certainly aren't the only components of any economic system. It's absolute brain rot to put these things opposed to each other, to think they are the only options, and to think either component could even be judged by the criteria of whether or not it "works".
