I'm having trouble with my health since I turned 50 last year. My low back hurts constantly and keeps me from sleeping. Medical intervention has done nothing even though I've had a number of procedures done in it. I know my back is symptomatic of my background stress from growing up in an abusive home. I'm "guarding" ... Tense all the time from the trauma. I know that I need to do two things: figure out how to lose the last of that trauma and exercise Every. Single. day. I have to build discipline, something I'm usually good at, I used to be a runner up to a few years ago. But somehow the discipline isn't working like it should. Like my whole head is slightly off kilter, I think the lack of sleep has really hurt my mind.
The stakes are pretty big: fix this now or die early. I want to make it to my early 90s. But my body just doesn't forgive my abuses of it anymore.
