Where to start.
During the large-scale NATO exercise Trident Juncture 2018, over half of The US soldiers were reported to have suffered from cold weather injuries, including hypothermia. This led to Norwegian soldiers stepping in to assist them in managing the harsh conditions, with massive US units not fully prepared for the extreme cold. Many US vehicles and soldiers got stuck in snow, and Norwegian military personnel had to help clear the way or provide medical assistance.
Then you had Cold Response 2020. This exercise went even worse than Trident Juncture. There were even more cases where soldiers from The US had big problems adapting to the subzero temperatures and rugged terrain.
The crazy part was that this were The US Marines. You know, the ones that always save the world in movies and video games. They in particular faced massive cold related issues, and Norwegian soldiers had to step again and again in to assist. There were an extreme amount of reported cases of US troops needing extra support and medical attention, mostly due to the challenges of operating in extreme cold without the right gear.
In The US they are not trained for cold weather. They operate in warmer climate and desert type shit. Not sub zero temps.
I was a part of both Trident Juncture and Cold Response. And while I respect their patriotism for their own country, they are not made for cold ass shit.
