ADD/ADHD were invented as a solution to high-sugar and caffeine diets of american schoolkids. a profitable solution... this shit didnt exist until the 1980s. neuro-atypical people really suffered. if someone was an abstract thinker and didnt enjoy sitting for 8 hours each day, as a kid, or if the curriculum bored them (sit and listen), they got ritalin and later adderall
