this also isn't really true. A lot of jobs in the US just pay more than those countries irrespective of what cost of living area you're in. Salaries in the UK from middle class jobs are pretty abysmal compared to what you can make in low cost of living areas of the US. Yeah if you already have enough wealth stockpiled up to coast on then going to the Congo with it works, but you have to have tons of savings for that to be viable.
