hot take, it is your sibling order and number that matters more.
example
someone who is the youngest child of 3 siblings is not going to be in the same cultural generation as someone who is the oldest child of 3 siblings, especially if the spread of siblings year over year is large.

idk but i remember when they coined the genx name. all the news stories, articles, etc., etc. same as what millennials and now the zoomers got.
but when the media were flinging all their poo, i never got the feeling they were talking about me. they were talking about the ones 5-10yrs older than me. i have a sister some years younger, and she's still technically genx, but she's right on that imaginary border line, and while she definitely doesn't fit the genx mold, she's no millennial, either.
so, yeah, it's all just made up bullshit. you can paint certain broad strokes - like millennials all being pussies, or zoomer all looking and acting like complete and total retards, but much past that, it doesn't make sense.
