I'm always surprised by the low kill count of these shootings. Apart from the Vegas shooting, how come these guys never manage to break more than 30+? Are they just incompetent losers with bad aim or is there something more to it, because it always feels like they could have been able to kill more?

These are freaks at their wits end, not hardened warriors with a cause worth dying for. Sooner or later they have had enough and either surrender or off themselves. That's if SWAT doesn't find them first. Repeated loud blasts can really mindfuck inexperienced shooters which can lead them to an enough already moment and or clumsy tactical decisions. Paddock is an outlier to this but even then Im surprised he wasn't able to kill more than 58. His situation was basically fish in a barrel, with a barrel of over thousands of people. He fired over 1000 rounds but less than 100 people lost their lives that day.
