That's the official number, when you account for price increases it lost 50% of value or more. People with no real assets (HOUSING AND STOCKS ARE NOT A VALID ASSET YOU STUPID IDIOT) like silver, gold and crypto will get rekt.

House costs far more than land. But if you have to pay taxes and can't easily sell it's not a liquid asset but a hard one. You can sell gold, silver and crypto whenever without losing a single dime to the government. Never ever invest in anything that can be taxed.

The USD is like a guy without limbs with end-stage cancer who just got ran over by a truck and lying in a coma. Sure you could extend his life a little if you put in a shitton of effort and resources. But even if you could givd him a long life it wont be pretty. Yes Drumpf started it with the $2T stimulus or what ever he called it. Binder on the other hand completely set it on fire with another $5T total for supposed infrastructure and whatever the other one was called. They're both culpable not to mention Obumer and Baby bushy who got the ball rolling. The last fiscally competent president was Clinton though it pains me to say it. while drumpf waqs potus, Before covid I could buy a 2 liter bottle of pepsi for 99 cents. That same bottle cost $3.29 at the super market yesterday. The problem was exponentially exasperated during Binder though and I'm being completely Neutral not taking sides here.

The real decline in USD hasn't even started. There are several shoes to drop:
1. Trump will successfully politicized the Federal Reserve destroying whatever confidence remains
2. He'll have them lower and keep short term rates low no matter how bad inflation gets, but this will drive long term treasury bond yields to the moon
3. To "solve" this third order problem of the US federal budget being entirely consumed by debt repayment Trump will renege on foreign held treasuries causing yields to go infinite and the dollar to lose all its value outside of the US

Holding any USD-denominated asset or instrument is asking for Trump to extort or appropriate it from you.

Japan and China are already trying to sell down their treasuries anticipating this is going to happen. Japan and China collectively have almost $2tn exposure to US bonds, which is extremely dangerous with a nutcase like Trump in charge

If interest goes down bonds go up. So they'll lose if they sell now.

% of treasuries held by foreigners has gone from about 50% to about 25% in the past couple years. Everyone is bailing out on the US and USD. Selective (external) default is inevitable at this point.

Another potential big shoe to drop is a no-trade-deal with Canada. That would cement US isolationism and cause stampede out. Canada would also, if it had any sense, insist that whatever resources the US continues to buy be paid for in Canadian dollars which would be the last nail in US dollar dominance (they should have done this when Trump started the trade war, they can't be held to random over Ukraine like the Europeans hence high likelihood of no deal)

No you can't. All countries have strict control on gold and silver crossing borders, any larger amount then personal jewelry will always become an issue. Also all governments including the USA have at some point done force confiscation of gold & silver ( with or without payment for it). And if you are buying it on the market then they also have you on data how much you own so you can't even hide it from them.
Land, especially fertile land with running water or by the coast will always be the best investment.

>If interest goes down bonds go up
This is not what's happening. Bonds, stocks and USD are all going down because of capital flight out of the US. Historically, bonds go up in an economic crisis, but everything is going down because there's no trust in the US financial system any longer with Trump rotting out the foundations, by trying to take over the federal reserve. The whole reason the US financial system is trusted is because the fed is independent from politics. If Trump can take it over, that will no longer be the case.

You devalue when you have actual manufacturing that will profit from it. To devalue your currency to attract manufacturing is idiocy, if it worked like that Zimbabwe would be the biggest center for industrial investments for the last 15 years.
All they are doing is slashing the standard of living of Americans, in a hope that if they get poor enough they would start to agree to work anything and as much as needed. The problem is they don't have a country of Indians, Brazilians, Vietnamese, etc.. which would just go along with being poorer. America is built on the fact you will be rich or at least live better than almost anywhere in the world, if that illusion is gone, the country will fall apart in a decade.

The trust has nothing to do with the relations between Trump and the federal reserve but with Trump openly antagonizing almost every country on the planet sometimes even for nonsensical reasons, like Brazil for example with which the USA even had a surplus in trading. The USA is also looking more and more like the Sick Man of the West so everyone except the countries that are dependent on USA might to hold their status (EU), are starting to create distancing between them self and the USA but in a slow manner so to not take the chance that the dying Empire decides to lash out on them in its frustration.

The old pattern of the US / USD / US dollars being a safe haven clearly doesn't hold when the US is the cause of all the instability. The US stock market right now is like the coyote running off the cliff, it has no idea there's thin air and a deep canyon under its feet but eventually gravity will catch up.
