This shit requires a huge power source, and is extremely fragile. Might work for high value things like putting next to a patriot, but not on the frontline.

Future of fpv drone defense is defensive AI drone swarms, anti drone grenade rounds, and shotguns.

Maybe in 10 years we get something cool like a manportable drone can that just pops out a mini hunter seeker ai drone to track down and kill some incoming threat, but we are not there yet in terms of processing power and battery capability.

lasers are great, but they are much better for handling larger drones. small drones like fpv drones scale better than laser defenses
ironically, a simple spark gap transmitter is usually a better defense against drone swarms than expensive interception equipment

Impossible to tell real internet posts written by idiots apart from AI-generated crap using quora and plebbit posts from 2015 as training data. Some people have only the most tenuous grasp of current events and parrot inane bullshit that is easily refutable. Worse, once the bullshit is refuted, the "people" continue posting it. Who does this? Again, either AI or someone very, very stupid. Telling the difference is impossible.

Finnish education lmao

Lasers need fast discharges from their energy source, they use diodes. Batteries are too slow for high-powered lasers. These vehicles are most likely huge diesel electric generators charging a big diode parallelized bank.

I don't think the Elgin troons are capable of comprehending the scope of what it means for China to ramp up its militarization, given their de facto monopoly on manufacturing and gargantuan population.
And with Xi courting Modi to become bedfellows, that basically gives nearly all of the worlds manufacturing capacity to the Shanghai Cooperative.

What's funny is the chinese people aren't as happy about this parade this year and all the money that's being spent on it while people lose their houses and investments and people can't find work. I think this parade is more a show of force to the chinese people, it's meant to have a chilling effect on the current unrest.

The U.S. produces only about 500 sam missiles a year and it takes over 1,000 to resupply. Sams are fucking useless if they can be overtaken in the matter of a day or two with cheap drones. And Trump's retarded ass wants to spend an additional trillion on them.

I can't tell if that's a laser turret or a microwave system. Either way:

1. It's directional and therefore vulnerable to low-level swarm attacks.
2. It's not something that individual infantry units are going to drag around with them across terrain.
3a. If laser, it's limited to one drone at a time.
3b. If microwave, it isn't difficult to harden drones against high-intensity RF beams, it's just been unnecessary so far. All you need to do is enclose all the processors in sheetmetal casings.

That only protects against kamikaze drone attacks, not grenades being dropped from 1000ft (300m). Picrelated fell about 3.3 seconds which translates to an altitude of about 330ft (100m). IIRC shotgun range for a 12ga is effectively about 40m, maximum of about 80m.
